About The Position

Vanlife Customs is hiring a mechanically minded, motivated technician to specialize in suspension upgrades, lift systems, performance brakes, and related automotive work on premium adventure vehicles, primarily Mercedes-Benz Sprinters and Ford Transits. The role is based in Golden and/or Arvada, Colorado, is full-time and on-site, and offers competitive hourly pay based on experience. Extensive hands-on training is provided; prior experience as a suspension specialist is not required.

The technician will work with equipment and systems from Quigley QLift, Agile Offroad, Van Compass, FOX, and other premium brands. Many vehicles are brand new, so care, precision, and attention to detail are essential. The role involves collaborating with production and service teams and maintaining a clean, organized workspace while working on high-value vehicles.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

• Some automotive repair, maintenance, tire shop, 4x4, or aftermarket installation experience; this is valuable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Install suspension lifts, shocks, springs, control arms, and related components.
• Install big brake kits and other performance upgrades.
• Learn to diagnose and resolve suspension and mechanical issues.
• Follow installation procedures, torque specifications, and quality-control processes.
• Inspect completed work and support vehicle testing.
• Work carefully on high-value vehicles and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Collaborate with production and service teams.
