About The Position

Hai Hospitality is hiring a full-time, entry-level Sushi Prep Cook at Uchi Austin. This role provides foundational experience toward becoming a sushi chef, with training and guidance and opportunities to advance from within. The cook prepares ingredients and sets up the sushi line, including fabricating fish, preparing sauces, vegetables and produce, and sushi rice. The starting pay range is $17.00–$19.00.

Requirements

Effectively communicate with guests and other employees.

Lift and carry trays, dishes, equipment, and goods up to 50 pounds; stock inventory and perform restocking duties.
Stand and walk for extended periods.
Bend, stoop, and reach to access various areas and items.

Work in a variety of temperatures, both hot and cold.
Lift, push, or pull objects such as tables and chairs to reconfigure seating arrangements.
Use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as ovens, grills, and knives.

Work in close proximity to coworkers in a crowded kitchen or serving area.
Tolerate exposure to potential allergens and food odors.
Maintain a professional and hygienic appearance, including proper uniform and personal grooming.
