About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking a Surveyor to join their team in the Lake Charles, LA area. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing surveying work to determine precise locations and measurements of points, elevations, land areas, and contours for various purposes including construction map making and land division. The position is non-exempt and reports to the Foreman. Work is checked frequently and assigned according to specific procedures.

Requirements

High school or equivalent
Three to four years of experience in specified skill
Advanced knowledge of Surveyor tools and equipment
Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Responsibilities

Provides work control lines and elevations required for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials by construction workers.
Provides checking of as-built conditions using surveying techniques.
Provides topographic and cross-section surveys as required for planning and payment quantities.
Provides quantity calculations as required.
Prepares documentation of surveying activities.
Maintains condition and adjustment of surveying equipment.
Coordinates surveying activities to meet construction requirements.
Must have knowledge of and ability to use all surveying equipment and techniques.
Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
