About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking a Dirt Equipment Operator for a position in the Lake Charles, LA area. The Heavy Equipment Operator position operates power-driven machinery used to move dirt or other materials. This is a non-exempt role that reports to the Foreman or Site Manager. Assigned duties are performed according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Requirements

High school or equivalent
Must have a valid TWIC card in hand
Requires DISA background check and DISA drug test
General knowledge of civil construction and excavation
General knowledge of maintaining level grade at defined elevations
Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Responsibilities

Operates power-driven machinery used to move dirt or other materials.
Moves hand and foot levers to control diesel, electric, gasoline or steam-powered operating equipment.
Interprets hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed.
Reads and interprets load charts.
May assemble or disassemble equipment or material on construction projects.
May be required to manipulate equipment on un-level working surfaces.
May perform maintenance duties such as cleaning, greasing and oiling machines/equipment.
Complies with company and client job site safety requirements.
