About The Position

This position is for a Surveyor III who will lead surveying crews, prepare necessary data for site operations, and manage GPS files for automated equipment. The role involves recollecting site data for as-built documentation in coordination with the Survey Manager, and performing layout and as-builts for various road construction components such as walls, drainages, bridges, earthworks, ITS, FSS, and TCP’s. The Surveyor III is also responsible for maintaining control over all field and office surveying activities, conducting monthly equipment verification, attending safety meetings, and performing daily maintenance of surveying equipment and the provided vehicle. The role requires working in an outdoor environment, often involving overtime and flexible hours, and the ability to lift heavy objects.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant surveying construction experience with heavy roadway projects for a similar or larger scope of work.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and translate them into survey data for layout in the CAD and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift 25 to 50 lbs. several times a day.
  • Must be able to work overtime and be flexible with hours. (daytime/nighttime)
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be accustomed to working in an outside environment.
  • Must work well under pressure.
  • Must possess and maintain a clean Florida driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Lead crews of surveyors and will prepare all the data necessary for them at the site.
  • Prepare the GPS files for the automated equipment.
  • Recollect all the site data to perform the as-built in coordination with the Survey Manager.
  • Perform layout and as-builts of all items pertaining to road construction. (walls, drainages, bridges, earthworks, ITS, FSS, TCP’s, )
  • Maintain control and execution of all surveying activities involving field and office
  • Equipment verification once a month.
  • Attend safety meetings and trainings.
  • Daily maintenance and preparation of surveying equipment and provided vehicle.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
