Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years progressive experience, ideally related to site services and working in and around commercial/industrial type sites
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and construction specifications, methods and procedures
  • Experience with operating total station and survey equipment / GPS layout
  • Technical familiarity with surveying programs such as Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, etc.
  • Ability to create points from CAD or model files
  • Ability to understand the project schedule’s critical path
  • Ability to do estimates for various quantities of materials (i.e. earthworks, concrete)
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Trimble survey equipment considered a plus
  • Laser scanning experience considered a plus
  • Carpentry or concrete experience considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Conduct day to day layout and grading tasks in accordance to project design and ensure measurement of correct distances
  • Mark and label survey points and record field data according to job specifications
  • Provide clear survey notes and sketches for each control line and grade shot taken and check calculations
  • Conduct field topographic survey pickups and troubleshoot survey layouts
  • Coordinate field details, site inspections and liaise with field subcontractors/consultants and field Superintendent
  • Coordinate and assist with information distribution to subcontractors through shop drawing reviews
  • Maintain up to date and accurate as-built drawings
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring the quality control, safety and environment programs
  • Ability to work on several projects as needed
  • Review and interpret contract documents
