The Survey Technologist is responsible for executing low-complexity projects and supporting senior colleagues on more complex assignments. Core responsibilities include performing positioning and navigation tasks, acquiring survey data, and applying appropriate quality control procedures. The role involves setting up, operating, and calibrating positioning and survey equipment, carrying out computations and data processing, and producing accurate, customized reports and deliverables in accordance with established procedures. This includes ensuring correct offsets, measurements, and documentation. The position operates under the supervision of experienced colleagues, requires a college or university degree, and emphasizes the ongoing development of technical knowledge. Based in St. John’s, this role benefits from Fugro’s long-established presence and enhanced capabilities through Fugro’s Canada Remote Operations Centre (ROC). From this hub, teams support the inspection, monitoring, and integrity of offshore platforms, subsea systems, and marine infrastructure, frequently leveraging remote and uncrewed technologies to reduce the need for offshore personnel while maintaining high safety and operational standards. Although primarily intended as an offshore role with some office duties, the successful candidate may also work from the Remote Operations Centre (ROC), depending on project and operational requirements.
