Surveillance Tech - Mid Shift
About The Position
The Surveillance Technician uses technology and critical thinking to help protect Rural King’s assets. The role monitors camera systems and reviews specialized reports and video footage to identify theft, productivity issues, security policy violations, and financial transaction discrepancies. It also supports associates with camera and alarm systems, communicates with store personnel about loss prevention initiatives, maintains incident records, and provides information about significant events to management, human resources, or law enforcement. The position requires handling sensitive information confidentially and providing professional support to associates, customers, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of surveillance experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Comfort navigating computer systems and software to assist customers or manage activities.
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to actively listen, ask relevant questions, and provide thorough, articulate responses.
- A track record of producing error-free work and meeting quality standards.
- Experience allocating time and resources efficiently to meet competing demands and deadlines.
- Strong communication and persuasive skills to negotiate with and influence stakeholders at various organizational levels.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and address issues quickly.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended durations.
- Ability to lift 15 pounds periodically.
- Ability to navigate and access all facilities.
- Ability to communicate verbally with others in person and via electronic devices.
- Close vision for computer-related activities.
Responsibilities
- Monitor camera systems for theft, productivity issues, and security policy violations.
- Assist Rural King associates with using camera systems and reviewing video.
- Use specialized reports to review financial transactions and identify discrepancies in a retail environment.
- Maintain the alarm listing for all Rural King locations and help associates access their alarms.
- Communicate with store personnel and increase awareness of Rural King Loss Prevention Initiatives.
- Conduct package checks of associates leaving the Store Support Center.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on daily security incidents.
- Support stores and customers with questions about store policies.
- Review video footage of significant events and provide details to management, human resources, and/or law enforcement.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information pertaining to Rural King or its associates.
- Participate in learning initiatives, including training programs, workshops, and webinars.
- Provide friendly, proactive, and professional support to internal and external contacts, responding to inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively.
