About The Position

The Surveillance Supervisor is responsible for supervising staff and the overall daily management of a designated shift in the Surveillance department. This role supports, administers, and manages operational goals, monitoring achievements of performance and profit objectives. The supervisor enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards. They ensure customer service standards are followed by all team members and address issues as they arise. A key aspect of this role is the knowledge of and enforcement of all gaming laws and regulations applicable to the Surveillance Department. The supervisor partners with property departments to design and conduct highly sensitive investigations into potentially illegal or inappropriate activities. They also participate in the hiring process, conduct, supervise, and prepare reports relating to incidents, oversee attendance and time records, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements within their area of responsibility, reporting potential issues to management. Maintaining strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters is crucial.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Minimum one year of casino Surveillance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of casino operations, casino games, casino cheating and embezzlement scams, etc.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of video surveillance systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of video surveillance systems and database software.
  • Advanced computer knowledge; proficient in all Microsoft applications to include email use, incident report data entry, and report writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents In English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and communicate verbally in English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Must be able to efficiently and accurately count money and gaming chips and make a change.
  • Possess the ability to operate an adding machine and have basic computer skills.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Team members must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, fast, and helpful customer service to all guests and team members.

  • Ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise.
  • Knowledge of and enforcement of all gaming laws and regulations which apply to the functions and duties of the Surveillance Department for which this position is responsible.
  • Partners with property departments to design and conduct highly sensitive investigations to facilitate fact finding probe into potentially illegal or inappropriate activities.
  • Participate in the hiring process by attending interview and making recommendations in staffing.
  • Responsible for the overall integrity of daily operations, ensures compliance with all regulatory, internal control, and policies and procedures.
  • Safeguards company assets at all times.
  • Examine and analyze the physical property, processes and procedures to oversee and enforce compliance policies.
  • Serve as liaison with gaming regulators, public law enforcement, and other agencies as it relates to Surveillance by maintaining a positive and constructive relationship, in absence of Surveillance Manger or Director of Surveillance.
  • Conduct, supervise and prepare reports relating to any incident that is reported.
  • Oversee the management of attendance and time records.
  • Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
  • Responsible for staff development and training programs.
  • Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize team member engagement.
  • Evaluates team members within department and delivers constructive feedback to team members regarding performance.
  • Provides recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning and directing work) to meet business needs.
  • Manages work procedures and expedites workflow.
  • Provides recommendation for team member performance (disciplining, coaching, and counseling).
