About The Position

The Surveillance Supervisor is responsible for supervising staff and the overall daily management of a designated shift in the Surveillance department. This role supports, administers, and manages operational goals, monitoring achievements of performance and profit objectives. The position enthusiastically supports and actively promotes superior customer service, ensuring standards are met and issues are addressed. A key aspect of this role involves knowledge of and enforcement of all applicable gaming laws and regulations. The supervisor partners with property departments to conduct sensitive investigations into potentially illegal or inappropriate activities, participates in the hiring process, and is responsible for the overall integrity of daily operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory, internal control, and policy procedures. Safeguarding company assets, examining property, processes, and procedures for compliance, and serving as a liaison with gaming regulators and law enforcement in the absence of higher management are also critical functions. The role includes conducting, supervising, and preparing reports related to incidents, overseeing attendance and time records, ensuring regulatory compliance within the area of responsibility, and reporting potential issues to management. Maintaining strict confidentiality is essential.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Minimum one year of casino Surveillance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of casino operations, casino games, casino cheating and embezzlement scams, etc.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of video surveillance systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of video surveillance systems and database software.
  • Advanced computer knowledge; proficient in all Microsoft applications to include email use, incident report data entry, and report writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and communicate verbally in English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to perform mathematical operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to efficiently and accurately count money and gaming chips and make change.
  • Ability to operate an adding machine and have basic computer skills.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, fast, and helpful customer service to all guests and team members.

  • Support, administer, and manage operational goals and monitor achievements of performance and profit objectives.
  • Ensure customer service standards are followed by all team members and address issues as they arise.
  • Enforce all gaming laws and regulations applicable to the Surveillance Department.
  • Partner with property departments to design and conduct sensitive investigations into potentially illegal or inappropriate activities.
  • Participate in the hiring process by attending interviews and making staffing recommendations.
  • Ensure the overall integrity of daily operations and compliance with all regulatory, internal control, and policy procedures.
  • Safeguard company assets at all times.
  • Examine and analyze the physical property, processes, and procedures to oversee and enforce compliance policies.
  • Serve as liaison with gaming regulators, public law enforcement, and other agencies as it relates to Surveillance by maintaining a positive and constructive relationship, in absence of Surveillance Manager or Director of Surveillance.
  • Conduct, supervise, and prepare reports relating to any incident that is reported.
  • Oversee the management of attendance and time records.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and report potential issues to management.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
  • Responsible for staff development and training programs.
  • Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize team member engagement.
  • Evaluate team members within the department and deliver constructive feedback regarding performance.
  • Provide recommendations for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning and directing work) to meet business needs.
  • Manage work procedures and expedite workflow.
  • Provide recommendations for team member performance (disciplining, coaching, and counseling).
