About The Position

Supervises and coordinates activities related to the daily operation of the surveillance department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training and mentoring employees; planning, assigning, scheduling and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems and the overall effective operation of the shift. These responsibilities are coordinated with the Surveillance Lead Supervisors, Surveillance Manager, and Surveillance Director. DIRECTLY SUPERVISES: Surveillance Operators

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must pass a drug test and be able to pass random drug tests while employed.
  • Proficient in English verbal and written with the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees and management.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in Surveillance within a Casino Environment.
  • Some Technical background with experience with DVR’s, Monitors, Camera’s, and Digital Recording Solutions, etc.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must have an outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude and be comfortable initiating conversations and creating a fun environment with our guests.
  • Flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to push/pull or lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands/arms.
  • Required to talk or hear and concentrate through background distractions.
  • Frequently required to sit and occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to stay awake and be alert for entire shift.
  • Maintains a professional work environment with management and staff.

  • Ensures that behavior and appearance comply with established standards.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license from the Indiana Gaming Commission.
  • Will require access to sensitive materials pertaining to the Surveillance Department as approved by the Director of Surveillance.
  • Will have access to all general and secure areas of the gaming facility and back-of-house areas of the Racing and Gaming facilities but does not have access to the cages, money handling areas, soft count, and the vault without permission from the Indiana Gaming Commission.

Responsibilities

  • Implement all approved procedures.
  • Trains subordinates, schedules and helps evaluate Surveillance Operators.
  • Supervises and coordinates activities related to the daily operation of the surveillance department, surveillance of slot machines, cashiers, suspected criminal activities, safety issues, guest services, cage and slot booth operations including the audio/visual of soft count rooms.
  • Interacts with all department management in order to ensure they receive timely accurate information.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of the department’s operations.
  • Is responsible for the accuracy of all logs, reports, and official communications.
  • Reviews all daily activities, logs, reports and all related materials for the Surveillance Shift Manger and/or Director.
  • Is responsible for ensuring all equipment is functioning properly, contacting IGC when necessary, and keeping the Surveillance Technician informed.
  • Assists in training all Surveillance personnel.
  • Other duties may be assigned at any time as approved by the IGC.
