Maintains racing receiving barns. This role directly supervises none. The Barn Worker is responsible for the stabling of horses in the receiving barn that ship in to train or race, ensuring each horse has a clean stall. This involves removing hay, shavings, and manure, transporting it to designated bins, and keeping the area clean and free of trash. Responsibilities also include raking shed rows and exteriors, removing trash, weeds, and grass. The role may involve cleaning other stable barns/stalls prior to trainer arrivals. Additionally, the Barn Worker produces reports on horse locations within the receiving barn and reports any unsafe conditions. The position requires adherence to all safety requirements outlined in the Safety Manual or by individual departments/job functions. Other duties may be assigned.
