About The Position

Responsible for maintaining close, continuous surveillance of the entire casino property, in order to protect life and property at the casino. Responsible for coordinating and supervising the activities of all surveillance employees on assigned shift, in the absence of the Surveillance Shift Manager. This role involves monitoring all areas of the property, identifying potential security and/or safety risks, and reporting them for resolution. It requires maintaining confidentiality of privileged information, utilizing equipment to identify and report illegal or suspicious activities, and ensuring strict adherence to Gaming Commission regulations and company policies. The position demands an advanced understanding of gaming and cash handling procedures, protecting casino assets, and accurately identifying deviations from operational standards. Daily reporting and logging of actions, observations, and assignments are crucial. The supervisor supports other employees and management in asset protection, coordinates with the Security Department for investigations, and facilitates information flow within the department. They are held accountable for the accuracy of departmental records and may assist with training initiatives and policy/procedure recommendations for other departments. In the absence of the Surveillance Shift Manager, the supervisor reviews daily activity reports, prepares shift reports, ensures operational quality, and reviews surveillance videos and reports for distribution to appropriate officials and agencies. The role also promotes a positive work environment, encouraging guest fun, mutual respect, dignity, integrity, and open communication among employees, while retaining employees through involvement in training and development.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • One year of FW Surveillance department experience and able to demonstrate, through completed work and knowledge/skill assessments, an acquired knowledge/skill that meets or exceeds an Operator 3 standard.
  • Knowledge of and experience with closed circuit television equipment preferred.
  • Must consistently demonstrate excellent observational and communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate an ability to detect schemes or cheating activity aimed at the casino or its guests.
  • Must demonstrate experience and ability to provide effective supervision and effectively guide the actions of other Surveillance employees.
  • This position requires a Level 2 Gaming License.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.
  • Ability to write effective reports and memos.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from employees or guests.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent, and to interpret data from graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor all areas of the property, identifying potential security and/or safety risks and reporting them to the appropriate individual or entity, for proper resolution.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all privileged information in accordance with established company policies and PBGC Gaming Regulations.
  • Utilize necessary equipment, to identify, record, document, and report illegal, suspicious or unusual activities occurring on property.
  • Maintain excellent knowledge of all rules and regulations of the Gaming Commission and ensure strict adherence to same throughout the property.
  • Acquire and maintain advanced understanding of policies and procedures for all gaming and cash handling areas.
  • Protect casino assets and gaming integrity, through the consistent, thorough monitoring of activities on property, particularly on the gaming floor.
  • Accurately identify, evaluate, and report deviations from established operational and gaming standards and procedures.
  • Complete daily reports and accurately log the actions, observations, and assignments throughout their shift.
  • When appropriate and/or requested will ensure the completion, accuracy and closure of logs and reports completed during assigned shift.
  • Support other employees, supervisor and management, with regard to protection of assets in their respective departments.
  • Coordinate, with the Security Department, when surveillance discovers a matter which needs further investigation or attention.
  • Facilitate the flow of information throughout the department, by attending scheduled meetings and trainings.
  • Held accountable for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
  • When appropriate will assist with training initiatives to ensure ongoing success and continued development of Surveillance employees.
  • Makes suggestions and recommendations, as appropriate, with regard to possible changes in the policies and procedures of other departments, with the protection of casino assets in mind.
  • Review all daily activity reports and prepares shift reports for management.
  • Ensure the quality of operations in the Surveillance department on assigned shift.
  • Review all surveillance videos and reports, providing detailed information to appropriate casino officials and outside agencies, as needed.
  • Creates an atmosphere of fun for all casino guests.
  • Encourages mutual respect, dignity and integrity with all employees, by setting positive examples at all times.
  • Instills an atmosphere that encourages employees to share ideas, discuss concerns and resolve conflicts.
  • Retains employees through involvement in training and development.
