About The Position

The Surveillance Security Guard monitors security systems and scans screens to identify suspicious activity and potential threats before they escalate. The role may involve security operation centres, call centers, construction sites, parking lots, and gatehouses. The guard also supports access control, responds to incidents, documents events, conducts patrols, checks visitor identification, assesses security systems for vulnerabilities or malfunctions, and works with law enforcement during serious situations or emergencies.

Requirements

• Be authorized to work in Canada.
• Hold a currently valid Ontario Security and Drivers license.
• Have first aid certification.
• Have strong report-writing skills.
• Have good eyesight and an excellent ability to maintain focus.
• Have strong proficiency with technology.
• Be able to stand and walk throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems to detect suspicious activity.
• Control access to secure areas and check visitor identification.
• Respond quickly to incidents or potential threats.
• Document observed events and incidents by writing detailed reports.
• Conduct regular foot or vehicle patrols to help ensure premises safety.
• Analyze security systems to identify potential vulnerabilities or malfunctions.
• Work with law enforcement in serious situations or emergencies.
