About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring the Surveillance Department operates efficiently and provides protection to all gaming operations and gaming support areas. Promotes a secure environment within Virgin Hotels Las Vegas culture, while maintaining emphasis on revenue protection.

Requirements

  • Current, legal and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming License
  • Three-Five years' supervisory experience in casino surveillance systems operations
  • Extensive knowledge of casino games, payoffs, rules, and procedures, including advantage play and cheating methods
  • Knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, compact, etc.), gaming minimum internal controls and attendant regulations as well as VHLV internal controls, policies and procedures
  • Proficiency in CCTV and surveillance software
  • Promote teamwork with peers and among staff to ensure the department operates as a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Capable of performing mathematics to include, but not limited to, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a high level of professionalism
  • Great collaborators with the ability to create excellent working relationships across the group. Collaborative approach with all departments
  • Ability to break down barriers and resolve potential conflicts swiftly and effortlessly

Responsibilities

  • Oversee CCTV systems, digital equipment, and live gaming floor monitoring to identify security risks or illegal activities
  • In the absence of the Director, oversee and report on all areas under Surveillance to ensure compliance with the Hotel and Casino.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Nevada Gaming Control Board regulations and internal controls
  • Conduct detailed investigations into suspicious activities, jackpot disputes, theft, and employee misconduct, preparing comprehensive reports.
  • Prepare, review, and oversee surveillance shift reports generated; prepare summary, progress, and status reports representing all department operations to the Surveillance Director
  • Assist in the development and implementation of department policies and procedures, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate team member performance
  • Assist the Surveillance Director with department goals/objectives, evaluation of performance, planning of audits/close watches or special investigations
  • Maintain daily activity log and reports to ensure adequate and accurate information on surveillance activities are documented for future access
  • Maintain, store, and secure surveillance footage for evidence
  • Maintains the video archive of property-wide activities as detailed in by in-house procedures and state/federal directives.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information and reports
  • Assist Surveillance Director in conducting and documenting progressive discipline
  • Assist Surveillance Director with planning installations for surveillance coverage and equipment
  • Safeguard company assets via observation and due diligence
  • Address and resolve guest concerns or inquiries
  • Conduct potential hire candidate interviews
  • Support Surveillance Director in building, maintaining, and ensuring operational budgets, and demonstrating sound fiscal management
  • Attend required training sessions offered by Virgin Hotels Las Vegas
  • Perform other duties assigned
