About The Position

The Surveillance Manager is responsible for overseeing the surveillance department to ensure effective and economic operations. This role involves communicating with various agencies and internal departments, coordinating surveillance activities, ensuring compliance with company policies, and protecting company assets and gaming integrity. The manager will develop and enforce departmental policies, train staff, monitor activities, operate surveillance systems, document observations, and supervise observers. Key responsibilities include developing work schedules, managing and evaluating department employees, completing daily shift reports, and recruiting and training staff. The role also involves writing and submitting reports to the Indiana Gaming Commission and senior management, performing special investigations, and coordinating equipment purchases and maintenance. A critical aspect of the role is the immediate reporting of any Internal Control or State Regulation violations related to gaming activity to the on-site IGC Agent and Security, in accordance with the company's Self-Reporting Policy. Other duties include performing assigned surveillance tasks, attending training, and acting in the Director's absence.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five years experience in surveillance or another related field in the Casino Industry.
  • Previous related administrative and supervisory experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of the gaming industry.
  • Ability to prepare a budget for departmental operation.
  • Operation and knowledge of CCTV equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of mathematics and calculation ability.
  • Indiana Gaming Commission Occupational License - Level 2.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a confined space.
  • Color and symbol identification.
  • Normal gripping skills in the hands and fingers.
  • Ability to perform kneeling, lifting, standing, or sitting for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform stooping and twisting occurring on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the department to achieve an effective and economic operation.
  • Communicate with Indiana Gaming Commission, Judicial System, state, local, and federal law enforcement agencies, Security, management, and Human Resources.
  • Coordinate and monitor surveillance activities, assure compliance with company policies, and report all irregularities to appropriate management.
  • Assure gaming integrity and the protection of assets.
  • Develop, enforce, and adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist in training of departmental staff.

  • Operate, program, and fully understand the surveillance system and associated equipment.
  • Document observations, events, and incidents.
  • Supervise, evaluate, as needed, observers.
  • Develop work schedules to ensure shifts are adequately staffed.
  • Manage duties, coach and counsel, and evaluate performance of department employees.
  • Complete a daily shift report of activity for submission to the Director.
  • Review shift reports for accuracy and precision.
  • Appraise Director of shift activities and staff member activities.
  • Assure gaming integrity and the protection of company assets.
  • Recruit, hire, and ensure staff is properly trained.
  • Write and submit surveillance activity reports to the Indiana Gaming Commission and senior management.
  • Perform special monitoring and investigations as directed.
  • Coordinate the purchase, installation, and maintenance of department related equipment.
  • Responsible for immediately informing on-site IGC Agent on duty, Security of any Internal Control or State Regulation violations related to gaming activity of which you commit, witness or become aware; must report pursuant to company Self-Reporting Policy.
  • Perform other surveillance duties as assigned.
  • Attend, and assist as needed, training provided within and outside the department.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities of the Director in his/her absence.
