About The Position

Insight Service Group (ISG), a national investigative services firm specializing in cost containment and anti-fraud services, is seeking experienced and motivated Surveillance Investigators. The role involves investigating suspected fraud and misconduct through discreet, professional mobile surveillance. Investigators work independently and as part of a team, document findings in detailed reports, and upload video evidence. Scheduling is flexible and may include early mornings, weekdays, weekends, and evenings. The position is part-time and based in Bakersfield, California.

Requirements

• Experience in insurance, workers’ compensation, auto, liability, or similar SIU/surveillance work.
• Reliable vehicle, computer, and cell phone.
• Digital video camera with date- and time-stamp capability.
• Proficiency with web-based systems and ability to write detailed reports.
• Ability and willingness to travel as necessary.
• Ability to work independently and complete cases successfully with little supervision.
• Maintain minimum auto insurance coverage of $150,000/$250,000.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
• Provide a copy of a recent driver history report and documentation of required insurance coverage before hire.
• Eligible for Private Investigator Employee Registration.
• Strong work ethic, self-motivation, problem-solving ability, time management, communication skills, and flexibility in scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations related to suspected fraud and misconduct.
• Perform discreet, professional on-site mobile surveillance.
• Remain in a vehicle for extended periods, up to eight hours or longer, while monitoring subjects.
• Travel up to two hours one way per case as needed.
• Write detailed reports and upload video evidence.
• Collaborate with team members and report findings to management.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with company policies.
