About The Position

Allied Universal® is hiring a Surveillance Investigator to perform discreet mobile and stationary surveillance of claimants. The purpose is to confirm claimants’ current activities and capabilities and assist with the administration of insurance claims. The role involves investigations across several coverage types and requires maintaining confidentiality and adhering to legal and ethical standards. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and at least one year of driving experience, and must hold a Private Investigator’s license before applying. After an offer, the successful candidate must complete Allied Universal Investigations’ training/orientation course.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Private Investigator’s license required before applying.
Valid driver’s license and at least one year of driving experience.
At least one year of verifiable work experience, preferably in investigations or a protective service-related field.
Successfully complete Allied Universal Investigations’ training/orientation course after receiving an offer.
Flexibility to work varied and irregular hours and days, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to type reports in Microsoft Word with minimal grammatical and punctuation errors.
Proficiency with laptop computers, video cameras, and cell phones.
Ability to maintain focus and multitask in a dynamic environment.
Ability to handle stressful situations with composure and professionalism.
Ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree or higher, preferably in Criminal Justice.
Security or loss prevention experience.
Military experience.
Law enforcement experience.
Prior insurance investigations experience.
Prior educational or professional incident-reporting and/or investigations experience.

Responsibilities

Conduct independent investigations of insurance claims involving workers’ compensation, general liability, property and casualty, and disability.
Use surveillance techniques and equipment to monitor subjects covertly.
Document and report observations, activities, and relevant information clearly and concisely.
Collaborate with other investigators and law enforcement agencies as needed to gather information and coordinate efforts.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with legal and ethical standards during surveillance operations.
