About The Position

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Surveillance Operations, the Surveillance Agent II is responsible for supporting the integrity, safety, and compliance of casino operations through vigilant monitoring and investigative support. This role identifies potential risks, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to uphold operational excellence.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in surveillance, security, or relevant casino experience is required.
  • Must possess intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), commercial database systems, and internet research skills.
  • Must possess excellent report writing skills and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to understand and use various database management systems and the technological components of computers.
  • Must be able to multitask with different and sometimes conflicting events happening simultaneously.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including calculating figures, adding, subtracting, multiplying, or dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal numbers.
  • The ability to successfully pass an internal certification on all table games offered at Yaamava’ Resort & Casino within one (1) year is required.
  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate’s degree or equivalent in a related field (i.e., criminal justice, accounting, law, or psychology) is preferred.
  • Certified Surveillance Professionals (CSP) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes recorded and live surveillance video of the gaming facility activities to detect any suspicious activity, discrepancies of gaming activity including advantage play, cheating at play, or suspicious financial transactions, which may pose a risk to employees, vendors, guests, Tribal residents or Yaamava’ Resort & Casino operations.
  • Monitors, interprets and applies internal control across casino departments, ensures compliance with regulatory and operational standards, performs comprehensive observations, prepares detailed reports, and executes accurate data entry, while committed to maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of the Surveillance department.
  • Efficiently manage simultaneous telephone and radio communications in high-pressure environments, ensuring accurate capture, logging, and analysis of critical information using surveillance software and databases. Maintain exceptional situational awareness and precision while performing complex multitasking responsibilities independently.
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with Casino team members and leadership to obtain relevant incident details for the investigation of gaming activity, requested reviews, claims or accusations, and safety risks.
  • Maintains an understanding and maintains keen proficiency in all table games offered at Yaamava’ Resort & Casino. Applies a strong mathematical aptitude to verify and authorize payouts, reimbursements, and reconciliation issues, leveraging expertise to prevent and mitigate wrongdoings.
  • Conducts casino department audits through the use of cameras and applicable databases with the ability to verify regulatory compliance and or internal controls related to various financial transactions, morning audit drops, count room procedures, table games operations, food and beverage health and safety standards.
  • Maintains a thorough and up-to-date understanding of Tribal Gaming Commission internal controls, policies, and procedures applicable to the gaming facility, Federal and State regulations, as well as Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS), through continuous testing and examination, including monthly quizzes and tests on regulations and SOPs as required by regulation, to identify areas for improvement and reinforce adherence to established guidelines.
  • Conducts routine and systematic camera functionality checks to ensure optimal performance of surveillance systems. Identifies and responds to equipment malfunctions by submitting detailed technical work orders, demonstrating the ability to recognize when a camera is not operating correctly. Proactively monitors and reports any additional issues related to surveillance equipment, supporting the integrity and reliability of surveillance operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
