About The Position

South College is seeking a Clinical Coordinator for its Surgical Technology program. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of all aspects of clinical experiences, including clinical sites, students, and clinical agencies. The Clinical Coordinator will work closely with faculty to ensure seamless integration of clinical practice with classroom theory and laboratory skills. A key aspect of this role involves monitoring and evaluating clinical sites, maintaining positive relationships with site staff, and ensuring 100% compliance with accreditation guidelines for the clinical components of the program. The position also requires maintaining student documentation, securing clinical placements, and facilitating the resolution of any issues that may arise. The role involves participation in faculty and campus meetings, and other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an associate degree
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the daily operations of all aspects of clinical experiences, including clinical sites, students, and clinical agencies.

  • Monitors and evaluates clinical sites used for clinical experiences in the Surgical Technology program.
  • Maintains positive relationships with staff at all clinical sites.
  • Maintains all required documentation for students.
  • Obtains all spots for new students.
  • Maintains strong relationships with clinical agencies.
  • Performs clinical site visits and documents outcomes.
  • Facilitates the resolution of student and site issues that may arise.
  • Participates in faculty meetings, new student orientation, and other campus-based meetings as requested.
  • Maintains 100% compliance with all accreditation guidelines in clinical aspects of the Surgical Technology program.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
