About The Position

FirstChoice is Trinity Health’s mobile staffing solution. Travel Surgical Technologists fill short- and long-term assignments throughout the health system, with nationwide and regional opportunities. The role offers the opportunity to work in varied practice settings and to travel locally or nationally, based on the professional’s choice. Surgical Technologists must be willing and qualified to float throughout a hospital and/or across multiple hospital locations or regions. The position requires completing orientation and training, with different options available to accommodate schedules. Candidates may not hold a concurrent position at a Trinity Health facility. Travel and per diem opportunities are available.

Requirements

A minimum of 18 months of experience is required for CSTs.
For candidates who have not completed a Surgical Technologist program and were trained on the job or in the military, five years of work experience is required.
Ability to complete orientation and training.
Cannot hold a concurrent position at a Trinity Health facility.

Nice To Haves

Graduate of an associate or bachelor’s degree program for Surgical Technologists (preferred education).
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

Float throughout the hospital and/or across multiple hospital locations or regions.
Apply the standard elements of professional practice: assessment, outcomes identification and solutions, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Act independently and appropriately within the scope of knowledge and experience in the practice area.
Retain accountability for delegation, choices, decisions, and outcomes.
Collaborate with key stakeholders and contribute to quality and improvement practices and outcomes.
Adapt to new and additional responsibilities, embrace new ideas and cultural differences, and manage competing priorities.
