About The Position

The Harborview Operating Rooms has an outstanding opportunity for a Surgical Technologist. This is a Part-Time position, 36 Hours per week, with a Day/Evening Shift. The role involves working in a technological, fast-paced, and exciting department, utilizing knowledge of equipment operations and skillfully maintaining instruments and supplies. You will work with world-renowned surgeons and cutting-edge technology. Teamwork is highly valued, and success in this position requires organization, a desire to work in a team-oriented academic medical setting, the ability to stay abreast of current developments, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and knowledge of the duties of a Surgical Technologist.

Requirements

Completion of a Surgical Technologist program AND one year of experience assisting clinical staff in a variety of operative procedures in an operating room environment OR equivalent education/experience.
Registered by the State of Washington as a Surgical Technologist, or licensed in the State of Washington as a Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse or Physician.

Responsibilities

Take the lead in the patient care experience by prepping and maintaining our Operating Rooms for surgical procedures
Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and partners, from our scheduling team to surgeons
Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, problem-solving environment while maintaining vigilance of instruments and supplies used during surgical procedures
Perform scrub role while supporting patient safety a sterile environment
Support of post-operative tasks, including removal of contaminated instruments, decontamination, sterilization and turnover of the Operating Room
