About The Position

This position is responsible for promoting health and safety to all employees by facilitating effective patient care and promoting quality procedural, surgical and sterilization services. This position works under the supervision and delegatory authority of a surgeon and Outpatient Services Manager to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Surgical technologists are experts in the theory and application of the principles of asepsis and sterile techniques to combine the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, implementation and tools and technologies.

Requirements

Graduate from an approved Surgical Technician Program.
Surgical Technician Certification (CST) required.
Willing to learn GI procedures & function as an operational team member within Endoscopy.
Current BLS/CPR Certification required with American Heart Association or American Red Cross as a Healthcare Provider.
Must be able to reason independently and work with minimal guidance.
Must be able to interpret data and make sound judgments based on those interpretations.
Must deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring tact, judgment, and poise.
Must be able to adapt to quickly changing priorities and schedules.
Must be able to maintain good working relationships with all co-workers and the general public and use good judgment in recognizing scope and authority.
Lift, push, pull, and move in excess of 50 pounds unassisted.
Requires extensive standing and walking.
Requires frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.

Nice To Haves

Experience as a Surgical Technician desired.
