About The Position

The Surgical Technologist will work in the James Outpatient Care Operating Room within The James Cancer Hospital Surgical Services. The department has eight operating room suites and provides care in a fast-paced outpatient surgical environment. The position is 40 hours per week, with variable 8-hour or 10-hour day shifts and call required as needed.

Cases include robotic urology and gynecology procedures, such as hysterectomies and partial or radical nephrectomies; cystoscopies; ENT EGDs; orthopedic soft tissue cases; and surgical oncology and plastics procedures, including breast lumpectomies, excision of soft tissue masses, mastectomies, tissue expanders, implants, and TRAM or microsurgical flap procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of Surgical Technologist experience.
• Ability to work within a fast-paced outpatient surgical environment.
• Call is required as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Oncology experience preferred.
