About The Position

This position is for a Surgical Technologist at Mercy Medical Center, part of Trinity Health Of New England. The role involves providing scrub duties during surgical interventions under the direction and supervision of a physician and registered nurse. The successful candidate will participate in and enhance surgical care during the pre-operative phase, assist intra-operatively with technical skills, and contribute post-operatively across the department to ensure positive patient outcomes. Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology
Surgical Technician Certification through from NBSTSA.
Massachusetts Department of Public Health standards introduced by statute in 2013 require surgical technologists hired after July 1, 2013 to maintain a certified surgical technologist credential.
BLS required from Red Cross or American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

Provide scrub duties during surgical interventions under the direction and supervision of the physician and the registered nurse.
Participates in and enhances the surgical care provided by the surgical team during the pre-operative phase of patient assessments through teamwork.
Assists intra-operatively with technical skills and post-operatively across the department to provide positive patient outcomes.
