Surgical Technologist - Surgery - Ortho
About The Position
The Surgical Technologist supports orthopedic and other surgical services at Norman Regional Hospital’s HealthPlex tower, which has seven operating rooms serving orthopedic, sports medicine, endocrinology, and ENT cases. The role helps maintain a sterile and safe environment, prepares for procedures, and assists physicians to promote optimal patient outcomes. The position also requires ongoing continuing education and professional practice. The surgical services department describes its care environment as physician-led and professionally managed. The role is listed as a regular full-time day-shift position, with a schedule of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program, national certification in surgical technology, or five consecutive years of training/experience as a surgical technologist.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, maintained throughout employment.
- Current certification if employed as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
- Current Oklahoma LPN license, if applicable.
Nice To Haves
- National certification in surgical technology is highly preferred.
- One year of surgical technologist experience is preferred for an LPN.
