About The Position

This is a full-time Surgical Technologist position at Lexington Medical Center - Administration: Surgery. The role involves ensuring quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking and anticipation of case-specific needs under the supervision of an RN. Responsibilities include maintaining instruments, equipment, and supplies, communicating effectively with the team and patients, taking initiative for professional growth, and demonstrating cost containment activities. The work environment may involve exposure to infections, hazardous agents, and requires protective equipment. Physical requirements include standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, finger/hand dexterity, talking, hearing, and seeing, with varying percentages of time spent on each. Lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a Surgical Technology program or from an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking, anticipation and management of case specific needs, under direct supervision of the RN.
  • Ensures complete, accurate and timely care, cleanliness and management of instruments, equipment and supplies.
