About The Position

Shriners Children’s Spokane is looking for a part-time Surgical Technologist to join the team! The Surgical Technologist assists the surgeon during operative and invasive procedures; assists in preparation of surgical services to ensure suite setup is appropriate. This role offers no weekends and no nights.

Requirements

• Surgical Technologist License
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma/GED
• Surgical Technologist Certification (CST)
• 1 year experience with scrub skills

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a sterile field, providing equipment and supplies, performing sponge, sharps and instruments counts.
• Provide visualization of the operative site.
• Independently pull cases utilizing preference sheets and OR special equipment lists.
• Update and review lists, making changes as necessary. Review cases and equipment prior to the start of a case.
• Be scrubbed in and have equipment prior to the patient arriving into the OR suite.
• Determine and document the efficacy of equipment. Records should reflect an accurate description of operations, sterilization, and use of equipment.
• Be familiar with the proper assembly, operation, and disassembly of all OR equipment and attend in-service on new equipment.
• Complete competency evaluation successful in operation and maintaining equipment used within the department.
