About The Position

Memorial Hospital is seeking a full-time Surgical Technologist to join its Surgery team. The role supports a broad range of procedures performed at Memorial Hospital and the Memorial Hospital Outpatient Surgery Center, including general and colorectal surgery, urology, gynecology, obstetrics, ophthalmology, ear, nose and throat, interventional peripheral vascular procedures, orthopedics, plastic surgery, podiatry, gastroenterology, and joint replacement. The position prepares and maintains the operating room and sterile field, supports the surgical team during procedures, and assists with patient positioning, instrument processing, and room turnover. This is a benefits-eligible position in Marysville, Ohio. Requirements

Diploma or certificate from an approved Surgical Technologist program, an Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology, or an Associate’s Degree in another healthcare-related field.
Maintain continuous American Heart Association/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Prepare and organize the operating room, equipment, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures.
Anticipate the surgical team's needs and provide instruments and supplies during procedures.
Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts.
Prepare patient specimens and medications for the sterile field.
Set up and maintain an organized sterile field.
Use proper body mechanics when moving, transporting, and positioning patients, stretchers, and tables to help prevent injury.
Prepare sterile dressings as needed.
Provide the circulator with product packaging information for appropriate patient charging.
Clean surgical instruments, prepare them for processing, and transport them to the decontamination area.
Assist with post-procedure cleaning of the operating or other invasive procedure room and prepare it for subsequent patients.
