Surgical Technologist-Inpatient Surgery-Sign on Bonus $7,500
About The Position
The Surgical Technologist provides patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Under the RN’s direction, the technologist sets up and maintains the surgical field and assists the surgeon during operative procedures. Full-time opportunities are listed at Mount Carmel East, Mount Carmel St. Ann’s, and Mount Carmel New Albany. Schedules include day and night shifts, and on-call rotation is required at the listed locations. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is available to full-time surgical technologists in exchange for a two-year commitment.
Requirements
- Graduate of a surgical technology program and hold a certificate of surgical technology through the NBSTSA or NCCT, or be a graduate of a school of practical nursing.
- If a graduate of a school of practical nursing, hold a current license in good standing to practice as a practical nurse in Ohio.
- BLS healthcare provider training is required.
Responsibilities
- Assist in meeting surgery department goals and initiatives, including room turnover and first-case on-time starts.
- Assist with training and orientation of associates as directed by the Clinical Educator.
- Maintain a safe environment for the patient.
- Maintain sterile techniques.
- Set up and maintain the surgical field under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Assist the surgeon during operative procedures.
