About The Position

Brookings Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join their team. This role is part of an award-winning health care system known for high-quality care and personalized service. The Surgical Technologist will assist during surgical operations and procedures under physician's direction, working as part of a surgical team to ensure optimal conditions and a safe environment for patients. The role involves close collaboration with physicians, surgical nursing staff, and ancillary departments to achieve the best patient outcomes. The incumbent must possess effective communication skills, advanced knowledge of disease processes, and strong critical thinking abilities, while consistently providing excellent customer service and adapting to a dynamic work environment.

Requirements

• Graduate of surgical technology program
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Knowledge and previous experience with anatomy, physiology, microbiology, surgical pharmacology, and principles of asepsis/sterile techniques required.
• Familiarity with resuscitation protocols and an understanding of the tech’s role on a Code Blue required.
• Incumbent must possess an increased knowledge of anatomy.
• Current certification in CPR/BLS required.

Responsibilities
