About The Position

This is a full-time position in the Birth Center- OBGYN operating rooms at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. The role involves working three 12-hour night shifts per week, with every third weekend and rotating holidays. The Surgical Technologist ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy under the supervision of an RN. Responsibilities include managing instruments, equipment, and supplies, effective communication with the team and patients, professional growth, and cost containment activities.

Requirements

Graduation from a Surgical Technology program or from an accredited school of Nursing.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
Functions effectively under stressful and difficult situations.

Practice Innovation.

Certification in specialty area preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking, anticipation and management of case specific needs, under direct supervision of the RN.
Ensures complete, accurate and timely care, cleanliness and management of instruments, equipment and supplies.
Communicates to the team, co-workers and patients in an effective, positive and professional manner. Demonstrates effective, positive, professional manners while exercising verbal and nonverbal communication to the multidisciplinary team, co-workers, and patients.
