About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Ob/Gyn physician for a fast-growing practice in Perham, MN. The clinic is open Monday-Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Call is shared 1 in 4 with Detroit Lakes OB/GYN. There is potential for outreach to the New York Mills clinic. This is a multispecialty group practice that includes family medicine, pediatrics, surgery, psychiatry, and psychology, serving a region of approximately 15,000 patients. Outreach specialties available include Urology, sleep, dermatology, podiatry, cardiology, oncology, and nephrology.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Successful completion of an Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
  • If not board certified at the time of application, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training unless waived.
  • Demonstrate competence and adequate volumes of experience to include 50 deliveries (including 5 cesarean sections) and 25 gynecological surgical procedures (if applicable to privileges requested) in the last 12 months.
  • If just completed residency, provide residency procedure log and list of completed rotations.
  • If not applying directly out of residency, provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where privileges are held, showing clinical activity for the last 12 months, including numbers of procedures, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications.

Nice To Haves

  • Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than ACGME, AOA, or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada may be considered via waiver of eligibility process.
  • More education and experience may be required for more advanced practice.

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physical examination.
  • Admit patients (if applicable to the setting).
  • Evaluate, diagnose, consult, and provide pre-, intra-, and postoperative care necessary to correct or treat female patients of all ages presenting with injuries and disorders of the female reproductive system and the genitourinary system.
  • Provide nonsurgical treatment for disorders and injuries of the mammary glands.
