This full-time Surgical Technologist position is responsible for possessing a thorough knowledge of aseptic technique and its application. The role involves assisting in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments before, during, and after surgical procedures. The technologist will aid the Registered Nurse circulator in patient preparation, assembly of supplies, instruments, and equipment, and proper disposition of specimens. They will also assist with all aspects of room turnover, monitor surgical supplies for sterility, ensure judicious use of supplies, and accurately document/submit charges. Additionally, the role includes monitoring and documenting sterilization activities, attending in-services and staff meetings, participating in Performance Improvement Processes, and pursuing educational opportunities to enhance competency. The technologist may also assist in developing policies and procedures, serve as a preceptor, and contribute to clinical projects.
