About The Position

Shriners Children’s Spokane is looking for a part-time Surgical Technologist to join the team! This role assists the surgeon during operative and invasive procedures and helps prepare the surgical suite for setup. The position offers no weekends and no nights.

Requirements

Surgical Technologist License
Basic Life Support (BLS)

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma/GED
Surgical Technologist Certification (CST)
1 year experience with scrub skills

Responsibilities

Create and maintain a sterile field.
Provide equipment and supplies during procedures.
Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts.
Provide visualization of the operative site.
Independently pull cases utilizing preference sheets and OR special equipment lists.
Update and review lists, making changes as necessary.
Review cases and equipment prior to the start of a case.
Ensure scrubbed in and equipment is ready before the patient arrives in the OR suite.
Determine and document the efficacy of equipment.
Record accurate descriptions of operations, sterilization, and equipment use.
Be familiar with the proper assembly, operation, and disassembly of all OR equipment.
Attend in-service training on new equipment and complete competency evaluations.
