About The Position

The program coordinator of the Surgical Technologist program will fill a 12 month in-person position that provides academic leadership, program development, and instructional oversight to support student success, workforce readiness, and programmatic accreditation. Ideal candidates must possess strong leadership and clinical expertise in surgical practice.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)-accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Minimum of an Associate's degree.
• Active national certification in surgical technology (e.g., CST).
• Minimum requirement of 5 years of experience in the field within the last 10 years.
• Experience as an operating room scrub technician, an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both.

Nice To Haves

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree.
• Previous documented education or experience in instructional methodology, curriculum design, and program planning.

Responsibilities

• Leading the Surgical Technology program ensuring alignment with CAAHEP and ARC/STSA standards, industry best practices, and institutional goals.
• Curriculum development.
• Advisory committee leadership.
• Operating room competency validation.
• Significant interaction with students, faculty, staff, surgeons, perioperative teams, and clinical partners through in person instruction, lab simulation, clinical coordination, and community engagement.
