About The Position
The Surgical Technologist extern reports to the nurse manager. Under the direct supervision of the Certified Surgical Tech/Scrub nurse, the extern functions as a member of the operating room team to prepare sterile supplies and equipment used in surgical procedures and perform appropriate room duties involved with direct patient care, adhering to established procedural guidelines. This position demonstrates the knowledge and skills required to provide care and service appropriate to the developmental level of patients, with consideration for the needs of patients' families.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Surgical Technology program entering your 3rd semester.
Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile supplies and equipment used in surgical procedures.
- Perform appropriate room duties involved with direct patient care.
- Adhere to established procedural guidelines.
- Provide care and service appropriate to the developmental level of patients.
- Consider the needs of patients' families.
