About The Position

The Certified Surgical Technologist facilitates operative and other invasive procedures by preparing and providing the sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment required by the surgical team. This is a PRN position at an outpatient surgery center.

Requirements

• Associate degree, vocational certification, or military certificate in Surgical Technology.
• Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTA), or through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) is required. Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) is not accepted for Surgical Tech jobs in Cincinnati.
• If currently residing in Virginia, registration as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with the Virginia Board of Medicine is required.

Nice To Haves

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• One year of perioperative, operating room, or related military surgical technology experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruments and supplies to the surgical team during procedures while maintaining aseptic technique.
• Prepare, maintain, and organize sterile supplies and instruments for procedures.
• Prepare complete cases and adapt to special instruments, supplies, and equipment as needed.
• Assist with pre- and post-procedure cleaning of the operating room and instruments.
• Prepare and perform surgical skin preparation and clipping as indicated by the procedure.
