About The Position

The Surgical Technologist/LPN performs procedures within their scope of practice under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide the safest and most effective service to the patient and surgeon. The Surgical Technologist anticipates the needs of the surgical team and proficiently handles and passes instruments, sutures, sponges, and other required sterile equipment.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology.
• Good communication and decision-making skills.
• LPNs must have one year of surgical technology experience.
• Current Louisiana LPN license, if applicable.
• Current BLS certification through an ILCOR-provided course; the course must include a manikin check-off.

Nice To Haves

• One year of Operating Room experience preferred.
• Surgical Technology certification preferred.
• For LPNs, experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
