About The Position
The Operating Room Tech prepares sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintains the sterile field during the case, and provides the surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures. St. Mary's General Hospital is a community-based tertiary acute care medical center in Passaic, New Jersey, providing a broad range of services, including cardiovascular services, cancer care, maternal-child health, and outpatient behavioral health services.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, or related experience, required for new hires effective April 2014.
- Graduate of an ORT training program or completion of on-the-job training with a minimum of 3 years of experience; surgical-setting experience preferred.
- Experience scrubbing minor and major procedures in generalized surgical specialties, such as gynecology, general surgery, and plastics.
- Experience scrubbing at least minor procedures in specialty surgical areas, such as orthopedics, neurology, ENT, and urology.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
