About The Position

Munson Healthcare is offering a Surgical Technologist Apprenticeship Program for students from Baker College, Northwestern Michigan College, and Kirtland Community College. Apprentices earn while completing clinical hours in the operating room. The position is part of a surgical team in a fast-paced, innovative environment, collaborating with specialty surgeons, physician assistants, and advanced practice registered nurses to support patient care. Surgical specialties at Munson Healthcare include cardiovascular, neurology, eye, and endovascular surgery. The program includes a $5,000 milestone bonus after taxes and a pay increase after the apprentice completes their first clinical. After passing the exam, the apprentice receives an additional $5,000 completion bonus after taxes and transitions into a Certified Surgical Tech position, with opportunities for career advancement. Participants commit to two years at Munson Healthcare. Tuition reimbursement is also offered to support educational goals.

Requirements

Be a Surgical Technologist student from Baker College, Northwestern Michigan College, or Kirtland Community College.
Complete the first clinical and pass the exam to qualify for the stated program milestones and transition to a Certified Surgical Tech position.
Commit to two years at Munson Healthcare.
Meet Munson Healthcare vaccination requirements for measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella, or have lab-confirmed immunity.
Receive the flu vaccine during the flu season in the year of hire and annually thereafter, unless an approved medical or religious exemption applies.

Responsibilities

Complete clinical hours in the operating room as part of the apprenticeship program.
Collaborate with specialty surgeons, physician assistants, and advanced practice registered nurses as a member of the surgical team.
Contribute to patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment.
