About The Position
The Operating Room Tech prepares sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintains the sterile field during cases, and provides surgeons with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures. The role is at Encino Hospital Medical Center, a 150-bed hospital in Encino, California, with inpatient and outpatient services and a multidisciplinary staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, or related experience, for new hires effective April 2014.
- Graduate of an ORT training program, or on-the-job training with a minimum of 3 years of experience; surgical-setting experience preferred.
- Experience scrubbing minor and major procedures in generalized surgical specialties, such as GYN, general surgery, and plastics.
- Experience scrubbing at least minor procedures in specialty surgical areas, such as orthopedics, neurology, ENT, and urology.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
