About The Position
The Operating Room Tech prepares sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintains the sterile field during the case, and provides the surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures. The position is at St. Mary's General Hospital, a community-based tertiary medical center in Passaic, New Jersey, and is a full-time, day-shift role.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, or related experience, required for new hires effective April 2014.
- Graduate of an ORT training program or have on-the-job training with a minimum of 3 years of experience; surgical-setting experience is preferred.
- Experience scrubbing minor and major procedures in generalized surgical specialties, such as GYN, general surgery, and plastics.
- Experience scrubbing at least minor procedures in specialty surgical areas, such as orthopedics, neurosurgery, ENT, and urology.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
