About The Position
As a Surgical Technician at ProMedica Flower Hospital, you use your knowledge of anatomy, patient needs, and departmental procedures to prepare for and manage surgical cases. You help ensure the integrity of the sterile field by using aseptic techniques and promptly addressing breaks in sterile technique. You work with the circulating nurse to maintain accurate counts of sponges, instruments, and sharps according to department guidelines. Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate of a Surgical Technology program or a Licensed Practical Nurse educational program.
- Current, unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure from the state of employment if hired in the LPN capacity.
- CPR certification required.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in a surgical setting.
- Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) or certification from NCCT.
