About The Position

The Surgical Technician assists during surgical procedures and handles equipment and supplies, including sterilizing, assembling, and maintaining them. The role includes processing specimens, preparing the area between procedures, and performing other job-related duties to maintain department standards and productivity. The position includes every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday work, as well as call coverage.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved Operating Room Surgical Technician program.
• Must have and maintain CPR certification.
• Proficiency in English is required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competency in clinical care and assessment of patients across applicable age groups, including newborns, infants, pediatric patients, adults, and geriatric patients.
• Assist during surgical procedures, including sterilization, assembly, and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Care for specimens according to operating room policy.
• Perform necessary cleanup between procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as required or requested.
• Preserve and protect patient confidentiality.
