About The Position

Georgia Eye Partners is a specialty eye care practice in Metro Atlanta providing medical and surgical eye care, from general eye care to complex procedures for conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, and corneal disease. Its services also include LASIK and other refractive surgery options, oculoplastic surgery, and laser aesthetic procedures through OPAL Aesthetics.

The Surgical Technician assists physicians and the Nurse Manager by preparing and maintaining instruments and anticipating procedural needs for surgical procedures in accordance with regulatory standards. The role also involves handling supplies and equipment, maintaining the Central Sterile area, and following health and safety practices.

Requirements

• 0–3 years of experience.
• Maintain current BCLS certification and complete required annual in-services.
• Ability to work in a surgery center environment involving patient contact, hazardous chemicals, and infectious disease under a moderate level of noise.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions with speed and accuracy.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Manual dexterity, mobility, visual acuity, and ability to stand, bend, stoop, push, and pull; attendance and good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain supplies from other areas as needed.
• Return supplies and equipment to the appropriate location.
• Help keep the Central Sterile area neat and orderly.
• Effectively handle health or safety hazards for oneself and patients.
• Accurately report unusual occurrences or incidents to the Clinical Director.
• Perform other duties as required.
