CHI St. Alexius Health Williston is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to join our surgical team! In this vital role, you will work closely with surgeons and registered nurses, contributing to the safety and efficiency of surgical and invasive procedures. You'll play a crucial part in preparing and maintaining a sterile environment, supporting our mission to provide exceptional patient care.

Requirements

  • A Certified Surgical Technician (CST).
  • Strong understanding of sterile technique and surgical procedures.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to patient safety and surgical efficiency.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative surgical team.
  • Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist Program
  • Certified First Assistant - Certified Surgical Technologists (CST/CSFA)
  • Unlicensed Assistive Person: ND (UAP:ND)
  • Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare & Maintain: Set up procedure rooms with all necessary instrumentation, equipment, and supplies.
  • Sterile Expertise: Demonstrate mastery of sterile technique, sterilization processes, environmental controls, and instrument decontamination.
  • Team Support: Establish and maintain an organized sterile field, ensuring all team members adhere to sterile environment protocols.
  • Surgical Assistance: Assist surgeons by providing visualization of the surgical wound, aiding with wound closure, and applying sterile dressings.
  • Anatomy & Instrumentation: Apply your knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to surgical procedures, and advance your understanding of instrumentation across various surgical services.
  • Accuracy & Safety: Perform accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts according to established procedures.
