About The Position
The Surgical Tech assists with direct patient care activities in the Operating Room. Responsibilities include preparing and stocking the OR before and after surgery, gathering clean and sterile supplies, setting sterile instrument fields, maintaining and monitoring aseptic techniques, assisting with the orientation of new staff, and participating on departmental committees. The position is required to float to all UCI Health locations as needed. The listed duties are not exhaustive and may include other duties reasonably related to the position.
Requirements
- Two years of demonstrated surgical technologist experience in multiple specialties in an acute care facility.
- Successful completion of an accredited course in surgical technology.
- Completion of clinical training in an acute care perioperative setting, preferably in an academic medical center.
- Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, and understanding of medical terminology.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Must be able to provide proof of work authorization.
Nice To Haves
- Possession of a national Scrub Technician certification.
