About The Position

The Central Sterile Tech is responsible for decontaminating, cleaning, processing, and sterilizing supplies and equipment dispensed by the department throughout the hospital and outlying clinics. The role also performs charging, billing, and logging of services and patient charges for the OR, conducts daily biological testing, and participates in special projects and departmental and medical center-wide performance improvement projects as requested. The employee is required to float across all UCI Health locations as needed.

Requirements

• Successful completion of an accredited school of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology, or 18 months of relevant Sterile Processing experience.
• Knowledge and practice of infection control techniques and medical terminology.
• Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to provide proof of work authorization.
