About The Position

The Surgical Tech supports surgical procedures in a hospital or inpatient setting by maintaining accurate counts of sponges, rags, needles, and instruments; ensuring equipment operates properly; assisting the surgical team with scrubbing in and putting on gloves and masks; and cleaning, sterilizing, organizing, and restocking instruments and the operating room after procedures.

Responsibilities

• Count sponges, rags, needles, and instruments before, during, and after procedures.
• Ensure proper operation of equipment, such as lights and suction machines.
• Assist the surgical team with scrubbing in and putting on gloves and masks.
• Wash and sterilize all medical instruments and equipment following surgeries.
• Clean, organize, and restock the operating room after surgical procedures.
